Guatemala Client Visited EVANGEL Office
On September 20, 2024, my long-time friend and client, Thomas, from Guatemala, visited the Evangel office. Our relationship goes back two decades, and over the years, he has not only been a valuable client but also introduced several of his friends to me, strengthening our partnership further. Knowing that Thomas was coming filled me with excitement, as it had been a while since we last met in person.
In preparation for his visit, I asked him for his flight details and made sure to arrive at the airport well in advance to welcome him. To my surprise and delight, Thomas wasn’t traveling alone this time; he had brought his wife along. The primary reason for their visit, however, was not business—it was a leisure trip. This time, the focus was on traveling and enjoying their time together, with business taking a back seat.
Understanding that they had personal plans, I made sure not to disrupt their schedule. We arranged to meet the following day for a short while, just enough to catch up and ensure that their business needs were met without intruding on their vacation. After a brief but warm meeting, I took the opportunity to help them with their travel plans by arranging transportation to one of the local scenic spots.
Though the visit was short, it was a meaningful reunion. Seeing an old friend who had become more like family over the years, while respecting the personal aspect of his trip, reminded me of the value of relationships that go beyond mere transactions. While business wasn’t the priority this time, the visit served as a reminder of the long-lasting trust and friendship we’ve built over the past 20 years.
